Divorce for 3-8 Year Olds

Here in the Netherlands, the Christian part of the government would, no doubt, gladly criminalize divorce given half a chance, Yet, divorce is a fact of life just as sex, death, taxes and bad hair days are (not neccesarily in that order).

So, similarly to how it can be confusing and frustrating for homosexuals to be incessantly bombarded with heterosexual sterotypes in the media, it can be confusing and possibly traumatizing for children of divorced parents to be confronted with 'perfect' nuclear families in their toys (as they usually are). Designer, Ben Forman invented the Detacho Playhouse to address this problem.

It's a re-configurable playhouse set which can be taken apart and rebuilt as multiple homes to replicate issues of divorce and "the changing make-up of many modern day families". Brilliant concept . My favourite detail is the magnetic parents who have a smiley face on one side and a sad face on the other. Two smiley faces together attract, but two sad faces repel. There is no way the children can get two sad faces back together. Very educational.

Unfortunately it looks like Detacho Playhouse only exists as a concept of Forman's and is not for sale. He makes other cool stuff too.
